Nairne Supermarket A Step Closer To Reality

Welcome to Nairne sign (Claire) resized.jpg

A supermarket in the Nairne Main Street is a step closer, with the SA Government approval the Mt Barker Council’s Development Plan Amendment.

The Plan will see the old Chapman’s factory at the East End of the Nairne Main Street demolished, replaced with a supermarket and retail stores.

The developer had planned to have this done by Christmas but with the 8 month delay in getting government approval, this deadline has now shifted to April 2018.

The plan has been approved with the recent amendments including the change to rezoning 7.5 hectares of farming land to housing, the community rejecting the idea, wanting the keep the rural feel of the town.
