5MU Does Food - How About Them Apples!

5MU Does Food.jpg

On this week's edition of 5MU Does Food, our resident foodie Paul Wood takes us on a gastronomical tour of the Lenswood region of the Adelaide Hills.

The area, renowned for it's apple orchards, will host another Pick a Pink Lady weekend early May. Organised by the Apple and Pear Growers association, this is an opportunity to pick your fruit straighty from the tree, something you can't do at any other time during the year. Otherwood Orchard is joining Mahnew Orchard and Harrisville Orchard this year, with over 13 generations of fruit growing experience between the 3 family run businesses.

While you're in the neighbourhood, why not head over to the Pike and Joyce restaurant and enjoy ocean trout on a bed of quinoa, shaved fennel, spnish onion , baby capers, radish, chervil and lemon oil... or how about home made potato gnocchi with roasted peppers, pumpkin heirloom tomatoes, garden peas, confit garlic and grana padano? Check out the menu.

The finish it off with a nice crisp BK Wine! It's named oafter an egg... how very Easter!
