There will be a tribute to our iconic Murray River riverboats in the upcoming National Pharmacies Christmas Pageant.
In just one month on Saturday 2 November, the biggest public parade in the Southern Hemisphere will bring festive cheer to the streets of Adelaide.
Two new floats were unveiled today, the PS Murray Explorer and Humpty Dumpty.
The PS Murray Explorer, a tribute to the iconic riverboats from the Murray River region, is the second largest float in the pageant after the Father Christmas float, and will feature a live band, playing festive tunes as it sails through the streets of Adelaide.
Humpty Dumpty is the other float – a fan favourite from past years that is back by popular demand with a new design. Creator Dave Clarke celebrates Humpy Dumpty’s rich history in the Pageant in his designs, adding a touch of nostalgia to the float lineup.
Pageant Director Brian Gilbertson shared his delight to reveal the two new floats.
“We’re thrilled to welcome fan favourite Humpty Dumpty back to the Pageant line up after so many years. The PS Murray Explorer is a fitting tribute to our state’s heritage—its size and the live Pageant Jazz Band will make it a standout in this year’s parade,” said Mr Gilbertson.
“We are looking forward to see the smiles and excited faces that these new floats will bring when the 92nd National Pharmacies Christmas Pageant takes place in exactly one month.”
