Hills Fleurieu Police received a report of people going door-to-door in Hahndorf last week, prompting authorities to remind locals to ask for identification and credentials of anyone approaching their houses to offer work.
Previous instances of this scam have seen homeowners agree to low prices upfront, before substandard work and delayed timelines cause the price to increase dramatically.
