A man from Clayton Bay has had a lucky escape after he drove into a creek at Finniss last night.
At 11pm Sunday 18 June, police and emergency services were called to a swift water rescue at Winery Road after a Subaru sedan had left the road and landed in the creek, subject to seasonal flooding.
The 49-year-old climbed onto the roof to wait for help with the SES and police working to safely extract him.
He was not physically injured during the incident.
SAPOL encourages motorists to beware of areas that are normally dry but can flood this time of year and to pay attention to warning signs.
