A new accommodation project in Swan Reach is now up and running, with developers hoping it will capitalise on the nearby River Murray International Dark Sky Reserve.
As one of the biggest tourism accommodation developments in the region, it will offer eight international quality cabins and a restored historic cottage adjoining the popular classic Swan Reach Hotel.
The Gateway to the Galaxy will function as a means to keep tourism money in the town, while addressing a shortage of available visitor accommodation.
The new venture launched on Saturday, with Federal Minister for Trade & Tourism Don Farrell among the many guests to welcome its arrival.
Site developer John George OAM says it’s a pleasure to be creating something like this for the community.
“We’re working together to make Swan Reach an amazing place to visit and stay,” George said.
“Over 30 years I’ve always been astonished by the wondrous open skies above our family holiday house near Swan Reach. Our family has come here as a retreat from our business pressures and we’ve enjoyed becoming a part of the community”.
