A medical cannabis patient from the South Coast is giving testimony in South Australian Parliament today, 29 September, in support of legalising the cultivation of cannabidiol (CBD) oil.
Graham Law has had thousands of seizures from a brain injury and epilepsy following a surfing accident in 2007.
He said consuming CBD oil is the only way he has been able to successfully control his daily seizures.
His Goolwa Beach home was raided by police in March 2023, and had his CBD oil confiscated along with several cannabis plants and charged with cultivating up to prescribed number of cannabis plants, possessing equipment for cannabis use or preparation and three counts of possessing cannabis, resin or cannabis oil.
As a disability support pensioner he said he cannot afford to spend $1,000 a month on a prescription.
He will be giving testimony at a public hearing of the Joint Committee on the Legalisation of Medicinal Cannabis at 10.45am today, September 29.
