The Hills Cricket Association have returned to the Meyer Shield winners list for the first time in four years, after winning a one-wicket thriller against Great Southern yesterday at the Summit Sports and Recreation Park.

Batting first, the Crays put together a strong score on the back of half centuries from Encounter Bay pair Matt Overall (61) and Sam Hoffmann (56*), reaching 8/186 from their 50 overs.

The Hills in response needed a range of batters to play their part, with Jordan Neis-Beer (45), Harrison Webb (38*), Josh Healey (27) and Mitchell Thomas (23 off 23) all stepping up when needed to steer their side home in a tense finish, which came down to the final over.
