A man has been charged with murder following the death of a woman in a house fire in the Fleurieu Peninsula.
Just before 3.30pm on Friday 20 October, emergency services were called to a home on Barracoota Crescent at Aldinga Beach after a neighbour reported seeing smoke coming from the roof.
Fire crews quickly attended and extinguished the blaze and when they went inside, discovered the body of a 38-year-old woman.
The victim has been identified as mother-of-two Krystal Marshall, 38, who is being remembered as an “amazing friend, mother and person”.
Fire Investigators attended the scene to determine the cause of the fire.
Following an investigation, just after 10pm on Saturday 21 October, Southern District Detectives attended the address and arrested a 48-year-old man and charged him with murder.
He has been refused bail and will appear in Christies Beach Magistrates Court today, Monday 23 October.
