South Australia’s aerial firefighting fleet is growing with a new helicopter coming to the Adelaide Hills.
The state government is spending $26.7 million to bring the total number of aircraft in South Australia from 26 to 31.
A new Eurocopter B3 Squirrel helicopter will be based at the CFS Claremont Air Base at Brukunga.

Relocated from the Woodside Air base in December 2016, the South Australian aviation group Aerotech Australasia established a longer runway and a faster fill capability for aircraft at Brukunga to meet the demands of the CFS in aerial firefighting capability as well as facilities for pilots and crews.
