Illuminate Adelaide organisers are hoping for continued good weather, as Mannum’s River Lights installation draws big crowds to the region.
The event boast six different locations throughout Randell Street and Main Street, and has been running 6-10pm nightly since its launch on Friday.
Mid Murray Mayor Simone Bailey and Tourism Minister Zoe Bettison were on scene to usher in opening night, with organisers impressed by the early turnout.
It coincides with other state government initiatives to increase tourism in the region, such as the River Revival Travel Voucher Scheme and the Rise Up for the River marketing assistance packages.
Ms Bettison says it’s driving more and more people to the region.
“People were very positive and upbeat, and lots of those who had never been to the area are discovering the river regions,” she said.
“Put on a coat, beanie and a scarf and you won’t even notice the cold! It’s beautiful and there’s something for all ages.”
The Illuminate Adelaide installation will run until Sunday night.
