MURRAY TOWNS CRICKET ASSOCIATION (full scorecards here)
The Murray Towns Cricket Association started their new season with a bang on Saturday, with three unbeaten centurions headlining the performances of Round One.
Defending champions Mypolonga had two as they belted Tailem Bend by 215 runs first up, with Shannon Callery making 151* and Keynan Harradine posting 116*
Elsewhere, Ben Trenorden made 141* for the Wanderers as they comfortably beat Monarto, while Meningie shocked last year’s finalists in Mannum to win by seven wickets.
ALEXANDRA AND EASTERN HILLS CRICKET ASSOCIATION (full scorecards here)
Two-time defending champions Lobethal have been beaten convincingly in their first match of the season, as the Alexandra and Eastern Hills Cricket Association kicked off with a big upset.
Hahndorf were too strong throughout, particularly with the ball, as they dismissed the Tigers for just 100 to win by 104 runs.
Other results from the round saw Nairne, Langhorne Creek and Strath all win first up.
GREAT SOUTHERN CRICKET ASSOCIATION (full scorecards here)
Port Elliot has exacted revenge in their Great Southern Cricket Association grand final rematch on Saturday, beating Encounter Bay by three wickets to start their season with a big win.
In what was a tense low-scoring clash, Joel and Liam Harris guided Port Elliot home to their target of 119 with just three overs to spare.
A few of the league’s best got off a hot start as well, with Noarlunga’s Cameron Bullard making 112 of his side’s 160 as they smashed Mount Compass, while McLaren Districts’ Stephen Nairn took 6/22 to help the Crushers beat Myponga-Sellicks.
HILLS CRICKET ASSOCIATION (full scorecards here)
Mount Lofty and Bridgewater went down to the wire in an incredible round one thriller, with the Redcaps winning by a single run.
Liam Risson’s late stand (45) almost saw Bridgewater take a huge upset in their first match of the season, however Will Healey (4/23) took wickets late to save the day to help the Redcaps hold on.
Defending champions Scott Creek Ironbank, Stirling and Aldgate all also tallied wins to start their campaigns.
