In a resounding show of support from the Liberal party despite her a solid defeat just 6 weeks ago, Georgina Downer has again secured pre-selection to run for the seat of Mayo in the upcoming Federal Election.
MS Downer was challenged by HR specialist Reagan Garner, the party member ballot held on Saturday reportedly retuning a result of 238 votes to 30 in Downer’s favour.
Today I was honoured to be chosen by the Liberal Party members in Mayo to be the Liberal candidate at the upcoming Federal Election.
I will work tirelessly to ensure the people in Mayo have a strong voice in Canberra. My community is what matters and it deserves nothing but the best representation
Member for Mayo Rebekha Sharkie, who increased her lead at the polls in the July by-election has also been endorsed to run again for the Centre Alliance Party.
“I’ve had the great privilege of representing the people of Mayo for over 2 years and I’m very pleased the party has re-endorsed me in my role. I look forward to continuing the great work we are doing in Parliament” said Rebekha.
“I am thrilled to be working with my Centre Alliance colleagues once again to give South Australians the opportunity to vote for a party that represents the sensible centre of politics,” said Skye. “Resigning from the Senate last year was heart-breaking but I haven’t let that stop me from continuing to speak with individuals and organisations about the issues that matter to them. I’m looking forward to running a positive campaign based on the issues important to South Australians.”
