The Southern Mallee draft budget proposes no rate rise this financial year, to support the region as it recovers from the recession and COVID-19 restrictions.
The council has received over $2.76 million in grant funding from the Federal Government to assist the region in its financial recovery.
A business plan out for community consultation, includes $1.98 million for urban design (including the Pinnaroo and Lameroo town centre projects), $1.82 million for the transport infrastructure program (including $502,000 on the Kulkami and Billiatt Road upgrade), $1.7 million to upgrade the Pinnaroo CWMS network and $473,000 for the building program (including upgrades to swimming pools).
Residents can have their say on the Draft Annual Business Plan 2020-21 and the Draft Long Term Financial Plan on the council website, and at the council offices before July 16.
The council will meet to adopt the plan on July 29.
