Police are pursuing a driver allegedly involved in a hit and run in Mannum.

Around 1.30pm yesterday, Wednesday 3 February, patrols allegedly spotted a 2005 Ford Falcon sedan driving erratically.

When the patrol conducted a u-turn to follow the car they located it a short distance away on Belvedere Road where it had collided with a Honda sedan and stobie pole before tearing in half (pictured above).

The driver of the Honda, a 60-year-old man from Mannum, was taken to the Mannum Hospital before being airlifted to the Royal Adelaide Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the Ford left the scene before police arrived.

Investigations are continuing and police have concerns for the welfare of the Ford driver as he may be injured and in need of medical treatment.

Anyone who saw the red Ford Falcon sedan prior to the crash or who has information that may assist the police, are asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report on line at www.crimestopperssa.com.au. You can remain anonymous.
