The first stage of the Nairne Village Green Project starts on Monday 19 April.
In a bid to maximise usability of the Village Green, and bring life back to underutilised spaces, the Mt Barker Council is undergoing upgrades at Mick Murphy Park and Market Square.
New landscaping is planned in the area, extended grassed areas and trees will be planted, extra parking will be constructed on Cockburn Street, along with a new footpath on Jeffrey st.
The RSL Memorial and Cenotaph will also be relocated in order to open up the main street space, but not until after ANZAC Day.
The Stage A project cost is estimated at $375,000 and should be completed by July 2021.
