A man involved in a serious crash in the Adelaide Hills has been charged by police.
Just before 9pm Friday 7 May, authorities were called to Hawthorn Rd, Echunga, following reports a car left the road and hit a tree.
A 12-year-old boy who was a passenger in the red Holden Captiva suffered serious injuries and was taken to the Women’s and Children’s Hospital. His injuries are not considered to be life-threatening.
The driver was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
The 37-year-old Kanmantoo man was arrested on Sunday evening and was charged with cause serious injury by dangerous driving and aggravated driving without due care.
He was bailed to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on 28 July.
Major Crash officers are investigating the crash.
