The Victor Harbor Hospital has secured the extra $5.1 million required for much-needed upgrades.
During the 2019 Federal election, the Government committed $8.4 million to expand the service’s existing Emergency Department and Renal Dialysis Unit and to upgrade sterilisation services. It recently emerged that the project will cost a total of $13.5 million.
Following advocacy from the Member for Mayo Rebekha Sharkie, the additional funding has been included in the Federal Budget.
It will be a necessary development for the Southern Fleurieu Health Service as the aging population in the region increasingly depends upon emergency healthcare.
