Ambitious Aim for 100 Community Water Tanks

Massive water tanks have been built in bushfire-affected communities, including Mt Torrens, Harrogate and Mt Crawford Forest.

Pioneer Water Tanks SA has been working with the Mindaroo Foundation and community groups, including Murray Bridge and Onkaparinga Rotary Clubs to install the life saving structures that carry 216,000 cubic litres each.

The fast-filling tanks can be used by community farm appliances and CFS supertankers during bushfires, saving crews significant travel time as they do not have to go to water depots.

Managing Director, Tim Harper, aims to build 100 community tanks in the future and is calling on other community groups to get in touch to support the cause.

"By working with these community groups, its just a win-win and people then are able to get a tax deductible donation to have the money spread further," Tim Harper said.

Contact Pioneer Tanks SA at (08) 8331 8009 and ask for Tim if you want to donate to the cause.
