Drink Driving Charges in Murray Bridge

Police have arrested a man for driving erratically through Murray Bridge South with a substantially damaged car while allegedly more than double the legal alcohol limit.

About 12.05am on Sunday 31 July, SAPOL responded to reports of a motor vehicle driving erratically along Jervois Road, Murray Bridge South. Police located the vehicle with substantial damage consistent with being involved in a collision. The driver was breath tested and allegedly produced a blood alcohol reading of 0.130.

He was subsequently reported for driving without due care and drink driving, issued with a six month instant loss of licence and his vehicle was impounded for 28 days. He will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.

Around half an hour later, patrols pulled over another driver on Swanport Road.  The woman behind the wheel was breath tested and allegedly produced a blood alcohol reading of 0.081, which was in breach of her probationary licence conditions.

The 31-year-old Murray Bridge woman was reported for drink driving and breaching the conditions of her licence. She was further issued with a six month instant loss of licence and her vehicle was impounded for 28 days. She will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
