Warning On Water Flow Increase At Murray Mouth

We’re being warned to take extra care around the Murray Mouth, with the barrages opened to allow more water to flow out to the ocean.

The barrages were opened yesterday, with approximately 15GL of water to flow through the area over the next few days, taking advantage of the lower tidal conditions to flush out the sand that continues to clog up the river’s release into the Southern Ocean.

The water will be much faster flowing, the Department of Environment warning boaties and those out fishing to take extra care when out on the water or near the bank.
