No RSL Clubrooms At Mary Anne Reserve

The RSL will not be able to build new clubrooms at Mary Anne Reserve in Mannum, the President of the local chapter disappointed they won’t have the opportunity to honour local war vets in such a prominent position.

The original plans to upgrade Mary Anne Reserve included the option for the RSL to build on the site, but after community backlash at the thought of losing open space, the Mid Murray Council chose to drop the idea.

Local RSL President Denis Jericho has told the Murray Valley Standard that it’s a missed opportunity to showcase Mannum’s contribution to the defense of our country, with the town sending more men to the two world wars per head than any other SA town.
