High Range Speeders Caught In The Hills

Hills Fleurieu police stopped several high range speeders over the weekend, with one driver 60km over the limit.

On Friday afternoon (May 11) officers were alerted to a speeding driver on the South Eastern Freeway at Murray Bridge, they caught up with the vehicle at Mt Barker, snapping it at 161km an hour in the 110 zone.

The 42 year old driver from NSW was fined and has lost his license for 6 months.

Early Saturday morning a patrol was monitoring Woodside Rd at Nairne, catching a car travelling at 110km an hour in the 50 zone. After stopping the 20 year old Cudlee Creek local they also found he was driving unlicensed and in breach of his bail conditions.

Later that night a Newton man was stopped on the South Eastern Freeway after being spotted at 158km an hour in the 110 zone. He also returned a positive test for methamphetamine and may face further charges.
