Middleton Residents Push Back On Rate Rise

Several Middleton residents and business owners have spoken at a recent Alexandrina Council meeting, to protest the new financial year interest rate rise.

The argument is that council is looking for growth and not sustainability, asking for council to live within its means and not push for more infrastructure if they can’t maintain the infrastructure they already have.

Some also asked to see a break down of how much Middleton residents are paying as opposed to how much of the money is being invested back into the town.

The council is looking to increase rates by 3.6%.
