Alexandrina Council says they’ve listened to feedback from the community on their draft plan and have gone back to the drawing board on their proposed 3.6% rate increase.
Mayor Keith Parkes says they workshopped the budget Tuesday night and will present their proposed savings plan at the July Council meeting.
Mr Parkes says he believes the decision they’ve made will made ratepayers happy.
Several local residents spoke at a recent meeting asking why the rate increase was so high, asking council to rethink the budget and focus on maintaining infrastructure that already exists rather than create new infrastructure.
Mayor Parkes says he's unable to give any detail on the changes they've made until they're presented at the July meeting.
