Two teenagers had gto be subdued with capsicum spray after leading police on a high speed chase from Murray Bridge to the Toll gate.
The silver Volvo was spotted around Murray Bridge in the early hours of Saturday morning, police losing sight of it as it headed towards the South Eastern Freeway.
A patrol waited for it at Mt Barker but it never arrived, finding the car traveling on the Old Princes Highway at Nairne.
Police allege the car swerved as if to hit officers on the side of the road, luckily missing them before again heading back onto the South Eastern Freeway.
The car was spiked at the tollgate, the driver side swiping a patrol car on Portrush Rd before coming to a stop.
The driver, a 19-year-old Salisbury Downs man, has been charged with a number of offences including aggravated drive dangerous, acts to endanger life, drive disqualified and breach of bail. He was refused bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Monday.
The passenger, a 17-year-old Salisbury Downs girl, has been cautioned for failing to truly answer questions.
