Greens candidate for Mayo Major Moogy Sumner has told the Sydney Morning Herald that it’s time to step into the western world and have a say on shaping the country.

Major Sumner says he chose to run for the Greens because they want to look after the land and the water, something he says his people have already been doing for thousands of years.

The local Ngarindjeri elder joined his fellow candidates at an Adelaide Hills Cilimate Change Action Group forum last night where Centre Alliance candidate Rebekha Sharkie told the crowd that her Independent position allows her to deal with both sides of politics to convince those who may only see the economic impact not the environmental impact that the dangers are real and that something needs to be done before it’s too late.
