Secondary School For Goolwa Being Considered

The Education Department is reportedly considering establishing a secondary school in Goolwa.

Wth population growth pushing nearby High Schools to the limit, Alexandrina Council CEO Glenn Rappensburg says he’s in discussions with the Department, local MP’s and local Principals, concerned that the lack of secondary schooling in the town was forcing young families out of the region and could be putting people off from moving to the area.

Goolwa currently only services school students from Reception to year 6, students then having to head to Victor Harbor, Strathalbyn or Mt Compass for high school, with some having to travel up to 50km a day.
