Power has been restored to residents in Tailem Bend after lightning struck the local sub station yesterday morning.

SA Power Networks brought in a mobile sub station on the back of a semi trailer from Adelaide as a temporary measure to generate power to around 1300 affected properties.

The wild weather is still impacting some areas this morning with Basket Range, Carey Gully, Marble Hill, Uraidla, Lameroo, Parilla, Peake, Yumali, Borrika, Perponda, Coonalpyn, Narrung, Meningie and Salt Creek suffering power outages.

Crews have had to stop work during the night due to the weather conditions but will be back out to fix the issues as soon as possible.

There are wind gusts of up to 90km an hour expected across the state today with a severe weather warning in place for the Mt Lfty Ranges, Upper South East and Murraylands.
