A heartfelt goodbye from a Fleurieu Peninsula dairy farmer has gone viral, seen by almost 600,000 people in 2 days.

Third generation Victor Harbor farmer Casey Trealor said in a live facebook video on Saturday 9 February 2019 that she and her family have been forced to quit the industry.

Low milk prices at supermarkets have affected dairy farmers for many years now, along with industry consolidation, retrospective price cuts for some suppliers and spiralling costs due to drought.

Messages of support and condolences for the Treloar family have streamed in from across the world.
