South Coast Road Crash Victim Dies in Hospital

A South Coast woman has died in hospital two days after a head-on crash with a truck driver in McLaren Vale.

The 50-year-old McCracken woman died at the Royal Adelaide Hospital on Thursday 14 March 2019, following the collision on Tuesday night at the intersection of Seaview Road and Victor Harbor Road which left her in a critical condition.

The truck driver, a 22-year-old Findon man, was not injured in the crash. Police allege he recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.093.

He is facing charges, which will now be upgraded to causing death by dangerous driving. He was bailed to appear in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court on 24 April 2019.

The State's road toll is 25, compared to 16 at the same time last year.
