Police are investigating a fire at Stonyfell in the early hours of this morning that caused $600,000 in damages.
Just before 2am on Monday 24 June, police and MFS crews were called to Penfold Road where the structure was fully engulfed in flames.
An elderly couple who were home at the time managed to escape as flames took hold of the property.
It took firefighters an hour to extinguish the blaze, which spread to the roof.
The home was extensively damaged and two cars parked in the carport were also destroyed.
Police initially treated the incident as suspicious, but foul play has since been ruled out.
The fire is believed to have been accidentally started in the carport.
