Fixed speed cameras on the South Eastern Freeway catch more speeding cars than anywhere else in the state.

The RAA has used SAPOL stats to reveal the worst ten fixed and mobile speed camera locations in SA this week.

In the last financial year, the Leawood Gardens and Crafers cameras collectively caught 8,654 motorists driving over the speed limit and raised $3,444,809 in State Government revenue through fines.

The South Eastern Freeway cameras were installed following a series of truck related deaths in 2014 and 2015.

Serious injuries on SA roads have declined from 759 in 2015 to 576 in 2018.

The RAA says they are pleased to see the number of motorists speeding through fixed cameras has also decreased, though the same is not true for mobile cameras.
