Drivers from the best National and State rally teams are gearing up for this weekend’s Adelaide Hills Rally (AHR)
The event from Friday 20 to Sunday 22 September is the penultimate round of the Australian Rally Championship and also serves as the final round of the South Australian Rally Championship, meaning it is a not to be missed event for competitors as they try to secure event honours.
A field of 47 rally cars will be competing on challenging unsealed roads with the picturesque Hills as a backdrop.
A strong favorite to win in the 2WD class is Trevor Stilling, a veteran of car rallying and winner of the 2017 classic rally challenge series.
Stilling almost did not make it to the event but has been able to thanks to a Mt Barker business, Mechanical and Exhaust, who supplied repairs to his racing Nissan and trailer.
The Adelaide Hills Rally will cover 214 competitive kilometres over 20 stages from Friday through to Sunday this weekend, including a Super Special Stage at The Bend Motorsport Park at 5pm Saturday, where competitors race two-by-two on the Stadium Circuit.
