The Victor Harbor Anglican church has offered one of their buildings to help young people suffering mental health issues in the region.

A recent forum on the issue saw calls for a place where young people can reach out for help, where they could meet and spend time with other people in the same situation that was safe and welcoming.

In response, Father Jesse Pool has offered use of a vacant cottage in the middle of the town which, with its mix of rooms and open space, would make an ideal place to host the services needed as well as having scope to expand in the future.

Father Poole and psychologist and Victor Harbor Councillor Moira Jenkins are now putting together a working group to represent the services needed to get the idea off the ground.
