Murray Bridge is set to get a world class rowing facility with the local club securing a cash injection through the Building Better Regions Fund.
Member for Barker Tony Pasin has welcomed the announcement saying the nearly half a million dollars in funding would create a regional centre for rowing in the town, which would have knock on economic benefits including a boost for tourism.
“This is a fantastic outcome for the Murraylands, with the project receiving $496,900 to develop a regional center for rowing,” said Mr Pasin.
“This will have major flow-on benefits across the community including attracting rowing based tourism to the region as well as providing the local community with access to high quality rowing facilities. This will help ensure the Murray Bridge community, and the wider Murraylands region will continue to thrive and prosper into the future.”
The second round of the Building Better Regions Fund, which includes the Community Investments stream and the Infrastructure Projects stream, is expected to create some 10,000 jobs from over 240 projects.
