Duo in court over alleged BMW carjacking

Two men have faced a Brisbane court after being charged over their alleged involvement in a violent carjacking.

Robert Jeffrey Taylor, 32, and Kody Laurence Shang, 22, did not apply for bail and were remanded in custody after appearing in Brisbane Magistrates Court on Saturday.

Police allege their victim, 25, was sitting in his black BMW in the Brisbane CBD when it was hit by another car about 10pm on Thursday.

He was then allegedly assaulted and robbed by the duo after following their car to St Lucia, where the vehicle had crashed into a tree.

Police recovered the black BMW in Indooroopilly on Friday and charged the men with offences including armed robbery and dangerous operation of a vehicle.

Taylor and Shang return to court in June.
