NSW man charged with approaching two girls

A man has been charged over two child approach incidents in Sydney's west.

It's alleged in March, a man driving a ute pulled over on a Doonside road and engaged two girls, aged 10 and 11, in an inappropriate conversation. An adult nearby saw the exchange and challenged the man, who drove off.

In a second incident on Tuesday evening, the same two girls were walking on the same road when it's alleged the same man in the ute did a U-turn and confronted them again.

The mother of one of the girls was called and she parked her car in front of the ute. The man again fled, this time allegedly making contact with the woman.

On Thursday, following inquiries, a 41-year-old man attended Blacktown Police Station where he was arrested and charged with two counts of intimidation and one count of common assault. He was given conditional bail to appear at Blacktown Local Court on July 11.
