Terror charges laid against Brisbane man

A Brisbane man has been accused of planning to travel to Syria as a foreign fighter and recruit others to follow him to the war-torn nation.

But counter-terrorism authorities say that is not the end of their investigation.

A 21-year-old man was arrested during a pre-dawn raid on a home in the Brisbane suburb of Kuraby on Saturday.

He has been charged over alleged preparations to travel to Syria to engage in hostile activities, recruiting others to do so and helping them make plans to follow him.

The man is in custody and set to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday.
