Knife attack on bus driver in Syd's west

A bus passenger has been charged after he alleged attacked the driver with a knife in western Sydney.

Emergency services were called to Blacktown railway station about 1.30pm on Saturday where they found the driver, aged in his 30s, with a cut to his ear.

Police allege an 18-year-old male passenger attacked the driver before fleeing on foot.

The driver was taken to Westmead Hospital for treatment while the alleged attacker was arrested when he showed up to Blacktown Hospital a short time later.

He has been charged with malicious wounding with intent and is set to face Parramatta Local Court on Sunday.
