Warning on Outback road conditions

Outback travellers are advised that Outback Road Condition Warning Signs are currently faulting and may not be providing the correct information.

The department is working with its road sign suppliers on a resolution.

A number of outback roads are currently temporarily closed, or open with restrictions or road condition warnings in place, due to flood damage from recent heavy rains.

Road users are urged to keep in mind that unsealed roads can pose unexpected hazards and slippery road surfaces, and to slow down around roadworkers.

To stay up to date with the ever-evolving conditions and accessibility of South Australia’s outback roads, travellers can call 1300 361 033 or visit the Department’s website and Outback Roads details.
