The Milang community is furious over the destruction of a significant pine hedge at the Soldiers Memorial Gardens.

War veteran Greg Hopgood witnessed and filmed the destruction of 99-year-old hedges by council workers on Tuesday.

Mr Hopgood's Great grandfather and Great uncle were part of a team who planted and maintained the hedges in 1921 after serving in World War 1.

Mayor of Alexandrina Keith Parkes said he was not informed of the decision, as he should have been, but that he would swiftly work with the community on a solution.

In this podcast we hear from fellow veteran Brad Pavy, Greg Hopgood and Mayor Keith Parkes.
