How Gene Editing Could Make Better SA Beer

An international team of plant scientists have shown the potential to rapidly improve the quality of barley grain through a genetic tool, gene editing.

Senior author, Associate Professor Matthew Tucker, Deputy Director of the Waite Research Institute, joins Jennie Lenman to discuss how it can be applied to local barley crops.

The two also discuss SA's GM moratorium and the differences between genetic modification and gene editing.
