La Niña is causing high rainfall through SA and other south-eastern states following a concerningly dry August.

The significant rainfall is being caused by cooler sea surface temperatures in the central and eastern tropical Pacific Ocean.

Joining Jennie Lenman to explain the phenomenon and what it means for the country in the coming weeks is CSIRO research scientist Dr James Risbey.
