Recreational hunting can raise ethical and moral concerns, but it is frequently suggested as a way to conserve nature and support local people’s livelihoods.

Flinders University researchers have worked with University of Helsinki scientists in Finland to examine the environmental and social effects of recreational hunting by reviewing more than 1,000 global studies on the matter in a new article in One Earth.

Flinders University ecologist Professor Corey Bradshaw joins Jennie Lenman to discuss the paradox.
