Two men will face court after a shipping container was broken into at a Mannum sports club.
Between 6pm on Monday 26 May and 6.30am on Tuesday 27 May, suspects broke into a storage container at an oval on Belvedere Road, stealing a large quantity of copper cable and high-powered flood light fittings.
The Mid Murray Council posted on social media at the time of the theft, saying they were devastated with the situation, after two years of planning for the community project.
Following an investigation by Murray Bridge Volume Crime investigators, a 41-year-old man from Athelstone and a 35-year-old man from Northfield have been charged with serious criminal trespass and theft. Both men are remanded in custody and will face court in the coming months.
