A man has been charged following alleged serious assaults at Netley and Adelaide yesterday afternoon.
Emergency services were called to Marion Road at about 1.30pm yesterday after reports a man had been stabbed. When police arrived, they located a 32-year-old man with stab wounds to his legs. He was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police allege that when the victim and a SAAS crew arrived at the Royal Adelaide Hospital, a man attempted to enter the ambulance armed with a knife and made threats. No further stabbing occurred and no one was injured.
The suspect allegedly fled in a white Porsche with Victorian registration VDI775, which was tracked to the South Eastern Freeway at Mount Osmond. A 27-year-old man from Victoria was arrested without incident after the vehicle was found stopped on the side of the road.
He has been charged with assault, cause harm, and two counts of assaulting a prescribed emergency worker. He was refused police bail and is due to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court today.
Police say the incident is not random.
