Police have charged a man following the recovery of a stolen vehicle and arson in Murray Bridge last night.
Just after 8pm on Sunday 10 May, police were searching the Kepa Road area for a stolen vehicle, stolen from a Murray Bridge East property in March 2026.
As patrols arrived in the area a person got into the vehicle and drove through a fence on Kepa Road.
Local patrols set-up cordons and POLAIR was called to assist with a search. The Holden was tracked by POLAIR travelling at high speeds in the Murray Bridge area.
A short time later, the Holden was located under the railway bridge on East Terrace, engulfed in flames. Fire crews were called to the scene and extinguished the blaze however the Holden was destroyed by fire.
PD Arlo was called in to assist with a search and located a man on Bridge Street who was arrested by patrols.
Crime Scene Investigators are expected to attend the scene to conduct a forensic examination.
The 35‑year‑old Murray Bridge man has been charged with offences including illegal use of a motor vehicle, arson, hindering police and resisting arrest. He was refused police bail and is expected to appear before the Murray Bridge magistrates court later today.
