Motorcyclist Dies in Kanmantoo Crash

A motorcyclist has died after a two-vehicle collision in Kanmantoo this morning.

Just after 7am on Monday 18 May, police and SA Ambulance Service were called to Old Princes Highway after reports of a Kawasaki motorcycle colliding with a Ford ute.

The motorcycle rider, a 39-year-old man from Kanmantoo, died at the scene.

The driver of the Ford, a 35 -year-old man, has since been arrested and charged with cause death by careless driving.

He was issued an immediate loss of licence notice until further order and bailed to attend the Mount Barker Magistrates Court on 12 August.

Traffic restrictions have been in place with motorists advised to avoid the area if possible.

Major crash officers attended the scene and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.

The man’s death is the 44th life lost on South Australian roads this year.
