Finals arrived in style in the Hills over the weekend, while the rest of the leagues across our regions confirmed their finals lineups. Catch up on all the action here:
HILLS FOOTBALL LEAGUE (Division One results here, Country Division results here)
Meadows have won a heart-stopping elimination final yesterday in Gumeracha, beating Kangarilla by a point (12.8 80 to 12.7 79) to kickstart the Country Division finals in the Hills.
The Dogs were cruising until Kangarilla surged home in the last with five of the last six goals, with Meadows holding on at the death to keep their season alive.
Bridgewater won Saturday’s qualifying final by 28 points against Kersbrook (12.12 84 to 8.8 56), leaving the Raiders to play Macclesfield next week for a spot in the grand final.
Over in Division One, Blackwood have taken the fifth finals spot after an upset 39-point win over second-placed Hahndorf (10.15 75 to 5.6 36), setting up for an elimination final clash against Uraidla Districts, after Lobethal pipped Mount Lofty in a four-point thriller to lock in third (10.5 65 to 9.7 61).
RIVER MURRAY FOOTBALL LEAGUE (full results here)
Mannum has claimed a double chance spot for the River Murray Footy League finals, after results went their way on Saturday in the last round of the season.
Imperial fell short against league leaders Coorong Cats by 36 points (9.9 63 to 3.9 27) to leave the door open for the Roos, who beat Mallee Districts by 69 (14.15 99 to 3.12 30) to jump into third.
It means Mannum will face Jervois in the qualifying final at LeMess next week, while Imperial will play Southern Mallee in Karoonda.
GREAT SOUTHERN FOOTBALL LEAGUE (full results here)
Willunga and Mount Compass have won their warmups for the Great Southern Footy League, as the last round of the home and away season finished with a run of blowouts.
The Demons cruised past Langhorne Creek to win by 33 points (13.8 86 to 7.11 53), while the Bulldogs handled Myponga-Sellicks with a 36-point win (17.7 109 to 10.13 73).
Amazingly, those games will be repeated next week in the first week of finals.
Elsewhere, Victor Harbor and Encounter Bay belted their opponents to finish their year in style, with Tyson Neale of the Eagles kicking 12.
